About Our Assisted Living Community
Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living Center is a superior assisted living facility, known for high-quality care and services as a Home for the Aged, licensed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). We are located in Hudsonville, Michigan, and boast beautiful grounds and numerous conveniences for our residents.
The competent and caring staff at Sheldon Meadows is trained to provide residents with services including housekeeping, laundry, and daily meals, as well as to monitor residents’ mental, physical, and social health.

Sheldon Meadows Apartment Amenities
Our spacious and comfortable studio apartments are barrier-free and accessible, in addition to their many benefits including:
- Basic satellite television (upgrades available)
- Utilities included (except telephone service)

- Emergency call system
- Large, easy to open bay window in living area with gorgeous view of the grounds
- Elegant window treatments that coordinate with apartment furniture and linens
- Bathroom linen closet and over-sink storage
- Large private bath with walk-in showers, non-slip flooring, handrails, and hand-held shower wands.
- Twin bed with orthopedic mattress and nightstand
- Residents of Sheldon Meadows are welcome to bring furniture and personal items to their apartment.

Our Pet Policy
Small cats and dogs are permitted to reside at Sheldon Meadows, so long as the owner is capable of caring for his or her pet without staff assistance. All pets must be registered when they move in, and re-registered annually. Required pet registration materials:
- Collar with license tag, valid rabies tag, proof of inoculations tag, and owner name
- Photograph of animal (minimum size 3”x5”)
- Current rabies certificate, signed by veterinarian
- Proof of spaying/neutering
- Proof of current license (per local governance)
- We also welcome visiting pets at Sheldon Meadows, so long as during their visits they are restrained by use of a lead, are carried, or are contained in a pet travel carrier.
Our Services
Our Mission: It is the mission of Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living Center to provide a home setting for the care of senior adults. We aim to create an environment with as few restrictions for our residents, and encourage their personal growth and happiness during their time with us. We strive to meet the needs of our residents fully, while respecting their independence and dignity.
Health and Wellness
Our desire is that each resident is able to live well. To this end, we offer a variety of activities and programs designed to help our residents achieve and maintain wellness.

Personal Care
Included in our basic monthly fee are the following personal care services, intended to provide residents with the standard of living they deserve and the assistance they need. Staff members are available around the clock to serve the needs of residents, planned or emergent.
Meals & Snacks
Sheldon Meadows provides residents with healthy home-cooking everyday in the form of three scheduled meals and snacks that are available at any time. Snacks include fresh, homemade baked goods, ice cream, sandwiches, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and more!
Breakfast is served from 7–9 a.m., hot and to order! If you’re not an early bird, don’t fret, cold breakfast items are available after 9 a.m. Lunch, the main event, occurs daily at noon. Supper happens between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
You can eat in the dining room with other members of the community—after all, eating is a social experience—or have food brought to your room (at an additional cost). Feel free to invite your friends and family to join you for meals, too (nominal fee applies)
Maintenance
Sheldon Meadows has an experienced and friendly maintenance staff to perform all necessary maintenance tasks and upkeep at our facility, from connecting the cable to fixing leaky faucets and more.
Housekeeping
Our housekeepers take good care of our residents’ apartments with the utmost respect for treasured personal belongings. To keep our residents’ apartments clean and comfortable:

Specialized Dementia Care
To address the needs of residents facing memory impairment, Sheldon Meadows provides residents with a specialized memory care unit, known as The Terrace. Staff in this unit are devoted to meeting the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, as well as other memory impairments and is specially trained to work with these individuals and understand their daily challenges.
The Terrace presents residents an altered environment that accommodates lost abilities and skills and failing memory. For residents this often means living a life with less stress, anxiety, and confusion; struggling less in daily tasks; and overall, a higher quality of life.
Support services from The Terrace include:
- Supporting family caregivers
- Care planning that is person-centered, rather than focused on the disease or lost skills
- Guiding social interaction with peers, staff, and visitors
- Maintaining daily routine
- Encouraging physical activity such as walking, dancing, and seated exercises
- Assisting with toileting and incontinence
- Assisting during meal time
- Dressing, grooming, and bathing assistance
