About Our Community
Welcome to the Village at the Pines, an independent senior living community in Grand Haven, MI. The Village at the Pines is a luxurious senior community catering to those of 55 years of age and older who are looking for a spacious home, without the work and hassle. The Village at the Pines is conveniently located on Ferry Street in Grand Haven, just minutes from the downtown area, and the beautiful, expansive state park.
When you choose to live at the Village at the Pines, you’ll have the option of either a one or two bedroom apartment home, with controlled access, as well as inviting community rooms for your own enjoyment. A senior living community, the Village at the Pines also offers a complete calendar of social activities, opportunities to volunteer in the community, as well as a whole host of other optional services.
The Village at the Pines was designed to offer carefree, independent living options to seniors in West Michigan. It is also a part of one of our premium continuum of care senior communities, which means that our Grand Pines Assisted Living Center is just a minute away. The Village at the Pines Apartment Amenities
At the Village at the Pines, we have one and two bedroom apartments available to residents. Each apartment features the following amenities, which come included in your monthly fee:
- A fully equipped kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, ice maker, electric range, and garbage disposal.
- Bathroom with step-in shower or tub
- Wall-to-wall carpeting in living room and bedroom
- Vinyl flooring in kitchen in bath
- Window treatments
- Neutral, calm color scheme throughout the unit
- Private balcony or patio depending on unit
- Individually controlled air-conditioning and gas forced-air heat
- Wireless internet
- DirecTV with expanded basic service
- Pre-wired for broadband internet access
- Emergency call system
- Water, sewer, and trash removal
- Washer and dryer in select units

Our Pet Policy
We get it: home just isn’t home without your favorite furry friend. That’s why pets are most welcome at the Village at the Pines independent senior living community. So long as you are able to care for your pet without assistance, your pet is welcome here, within certain size and type restrictions. Please note that if you’d wish your pet to live with you here at the Village at the Pines, we’ll need an extra pet deposit, along with copies of your pets’ current vaccination records and spay/neuter certificate.
Materials required for registration:
- Collar to be worn by animal at all times, which includes license tag, owner name, rabies tag, and inoculations tag
- Photograph of animal, no smaller than 3”x5”
- Current, veterinarian-approved rabies certificate
- Proof of license (per local governing entity)
- Proof of neutering or spaying

Health and Wellness
The Village at the Pines is more than just an independent senior living community, we also pride ourselves on our top of the line continuum of care community, which includes both the Village at the Pines and the nearby Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. That’s why we always strive to put health and wellness first, and why we offer various health and wellness services to all of our residents, free of charge:
- Fitness room
- Eyeglass and hearing aid checkups
- Regular blood pressure checks
- Wellness seminars
- Fall prevention and strength training exercise programs
- Monthly opportunities to “Ask the Nurse”
Out & About
Included in your monthly fee to the Village at the Pines are regularly scheduled bus trips that take you out and about Grand Haven. We work to make our bus trips both fun and helpful to our residents, and we always take resident requests into consideration when scheduling new excursions. Regularly scheduled bus trips will take you to:
- Local supermarkets
- The local senior center
- Shopping centers, malls, as well as area department stores
- The library
Add-On Services
And because we believe our residents should never be limited in the services they’re able to receive, we also provide the following services at a small additional fee:
- Delicious homemade meals served daily in our spacious, elegant formal dining room. Weekly meal packages are also available.
- Personal laundry service—Choose to have all of your laundry taken care of by our fastidious employees, or opt to just have your linens washed by us.
- Housekeeping services—Available on whatever schedule you choose: bi-weekly, weekly, or just when you need some serious spring-cleaning handled.
- Full-service barber and beauty salon
- Handyperson available for whatever sized odd job you’ve got going—from decorating your new apartment to installing a shelf.

We work to schedule activities that residents request or show interest in, because we believe that an independent senior living community should be about more than just having your own apartment. Off-Site Activities

Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house and go somewhere other than the mall or the grocery store. For times like those, feel free to jump on the bus on an excursion! While we schedule new destinations regularly, and based on resident requests, a few of our most popular trips include:
