The Village at Appledorn
Social Events & Outings
When you live at the Village at Appledorn, you can choose to be as busy as you want to be. Our on-site activity director plans enough events and social activities to fill up just about every day of the month with fun new things to do. Each month, we create a new schedule of activities that you can participate in, both on and off-site. So, whether you’re a big coffee drinker, or you’re looking to check out some of the attractions around Holland, we’ve got activities to suit your interests.
On-Site Activities
There are always multiple on-site activities happening each day at the Village at Appledorn. We work to schedule activities that residents request or show interest in, because we believe that an independent senior living community should be about more than just having your own apartment. Our activities are a great way to meet other residents, and to get active in the community around you! Some of our regularly scheduled on-site activities include:
- Coffee clubs
- Book clubs
- Quilting groups
- Bible study groups
- Musical entertainment and programs
- Arts and crafts classes
- Current events discussion groups
- Bingo, games, and puzzles
- Holiday parties and dinners
- Educational programs
- Volunteer opportunities to be busy with a purpose
Off-Site Activities
You may also enjoy the fun and excitement of our regularly scheduled day tours to points of interest around Holland and the surrounding areas. Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house and go somewhere other than the mall or the grocery store. For times like those, feel free to jump on the bus on an excursion! While we schedule new destinations regularly, and based on resident requests, a few of our most popular trips include:
- Theatre outings
- Mystery trips
- Color tours
- Community events
- Special shopping areas
- Breakfast or lunch at local restaurants
